FUNDRAISER VIA MIGHTYCAUSE TO QUALIFY FOR A COMMUNITY THRIVES GRANT

Bright Bridge and A Community Thrives

Bright Bridge Ministries participated in A Community Thrives Fundraising Challenge to infuse new donation dollars into our ministries, to aid our continued mission of helping those in need become contributing members of society, leading lives they are proud of, and being a bridge over troubled water along their journey, by offering them food, recovery services, housing and spiritual guidance.  By attracting donations from generous individuals like you, we may qualify for a grant, providing further funding for our outreach programs, which serve the most needy individuals, children, families, and homeless people in our community.  All funds had to be raised through Mightycause to count toward our fundraising goal, so we may qualify for a grant from A Community Thrives.  We encourage you to check out our Mightycause fundraising profile for Bright Bridge Ministries at https://acommunitythrives.mightycause.com/organization/Bright-Bridge-Ministries, and keep reading to find out more about this fundraising effort.

A Community Thrives Challenge - Fundraising via Mightycause

To qualify for a grant from A Community Thrives, Bright Bridge Ministries needed to meet a fundraising goal of $3,000 by October 16, 2020, 11:00 AM CDT, and a minimum of 10 donors contributing to this goal.  All funds had to be raised via Mightycause to help us qualify for a grant from A Community Thrives.  We are pleased to announce that we met our goal for this fundraiser, with 13 donors contributing to a total amount of $3,845 by October 16th, 2020, 11:00 AM CDT.  We extend our gratitude to all those who contributed to this goal.  We couldn’t have done it without you.  Please check out our Mightycause fundraising profile for Bright Bridge Ministries at https://acommunitythrives.mightycause.com/organization/Bright-Bridge-Ministries, to see how much we raised, thanks to our amazing network of donors, and to read more about Bright Bridge Ministries.

More Info About Helping us Reach our Goal

The aforementioned $3,000 and 10-donor goal by the morning of October 16th was the minimum goal to help us qualify for a grant from A Community Thrives.  Getting deeper into how this fundraising challenge works, there are two tiers – Tier 1 for smaller nonprofits such as ours, and Tier 2 for larger organizations, and first, second, and third place overall Top Fundraiser awards are available for each tier.  The grant amounts for the overall Top Fundraiser awards are as follows:

$25,000 Top Fundraiser (one in each Tier)

$15,000 Second Highest Fundraiser (one in each Tier)

$10,000 Third Highest Fundraiser (one in each Tier)

We would love to be in the running for one of these larger, overall awards, but they are extremely competitive, with some of the top fundraising organizations having already attracted over $20,000 and hundreds of donors.  This is why we encouraged donors to help us qualify for one of the smaller awards given to organizations who managed to attract the most money, or the most donors, within a given week during the overall fundraising challenge.  Competing for these bonus challenges required the collaboration of generous people like you, to make a large donation, a small donation, or share the message with others to help us increase the number of donors we have contributing to this effort.

Bonus Challenges

The following challenges took place during the last three weeks of this fundraiser:

This Week - A Contest to Earn the Most $$$ in Donations

Next Week - A Contest to Attract the Donors

Monday, October 5 at 12:00:00 p.m. ET through Monday, October 12 at 11:59:59 a.m. ET

6 organizations (3 in each tier) with the most sole source donations (unique donors) via Mightycause during the time period will receive $4,000.

Week After Next - Another Contest to Earn the Most $$$ in Donations

Monday, October 12 at 12:00:00 p.m. ET through Friday, October 16 at 12:00:00 p.m. ET

8 organizations (4 in each tier) with the most eligible donations (dollars raised) via Mightycause during this time period will receive $4,000.

We hope you will help us out in qualifying for at least one of these challenges.  Any donations or help in spreading the word about our participation in the A Community Thrives Fundraising Challenge is greatly appreciated.

Matching Grants

Companies who wanted to sponsor a matching grant for Bright Bridge Ministries for this fundraising effort through Mightycause, could email us at robin@brightbridgeministry.org and admin@brightbridgeministry.org, to get started.  While we did not secure a matching grant for this fundraiser, we are certainly open to the prospect, and would appreciate matching grant sponsors for future fundraisers, such as if we participate in A Community Thrives fundraising challenge again next year.  These grants can be great motivators for generating donations, as donors will know their dollars toward charity are being multiplied for a greater impact.

What is a Matching Grant?

A matching grant is a quantity of money an individual or sponsoring organization sets aside to be released, bit by bit, each time a donor contributes to the fundraiser.  The match grantor may set a total amount that may willingly spend over the course of the match grant.  A time frame may also be indicated, so it may last only one week, the entire duration of the fundraiser, or whatever time frame is desired. The grantor also decides on a fixed dollar amount to donate per donation, or a percentage of each donation to pay each time someone makes a donation to the fundraiser, or you can choose to pay only once a certain total amount of donations have been collected.  Grantors may also set a minimum donations amount for the match to be applied, and choose whether to include offline donations and organization fundraisers in the match.

We would greatly appreciate any generous individuals, businesses, or organizations stepping up to sponsor a matching grant for Bright Bridge Ministries’ fundraising efforts in the future.  Sponsoring a matching grant is a great way for you to help earn more money for Bright Bridge Ministries, and to incentivize more donors to make a contribution.
